Chong Hing Bank Personal Internet Banking Services Upgrade Notification

 

Thank you for using the Internet Banking Services and Mobile Banking Services (collectively, the "Internet Banking Services") of Chong Hing Bank Limited (the "Bank"). Internet Banking Services will be upgraded starting 30 June 2024 (the "Effective Date"). With simple interface and comprehensive improvements to product functions, the upgrade design tailors customers’ financial needs, providing customers with a smoother online financial management experience.  During the upgrade, Internet Banking Services will be suspended from 00:00 am to 08:00 am on 30 June 2024. After the upgrade is completed, customer will be able to access to the upgraded Internet Banking Services. The existing Internet Banking Services will no longer be available for access after the Effective Date.

 

  1. Important Notes
    1. Upgraded Mobile Token Service
      • If customer has activated Mobile Token Service in existing Mobile Banking App, please follow the instruction to register the upgraded service again starting from the Effective Date until 30 October 2024 in the new Mobile Banking App. If customer chooses to register this service again after 30 October 2024, customer has to conduct security authentication again (following below point).
      • After the Effective Date, if customer activates Mobile Token Service to perform high-risk transactions for the first time, please use the new Mobile Banking App to complete the process immediately via following methods:
        1) e-Identity verification, i.e. take a photo of your Hong Kong ID Card and conduct facial recognition selfie; or
        2) call our Customer Services Hotline at (852) 3768 6888.

    2. Following functions will be terminated in the new Internet Banking Services
      • Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment Service / e-Bill (including e-Bill registration, viewing e-Bills, viewing e-Bill history, express bill payment, e-Donation)
      • Pre-ordering cashier’s orders
      • Pre-ordering demand drafts
      • Online application submission forms, including “Activate / Update / Deactivate Two-factor Authentication Service and Receive SMS-Based One-Time Passwords”, “Register / Delete Third Party Account(s) / Beneficiary for Telegraphic Transfer”, “Change of Transaction Limit for Online Fund Transfer / Telegraphic Transfer / Bill Payment”

    3. Other notes
      • Starting from the Effective Date, customer can view and operate all the account(s) under the customer in the Internet Banking Services. Customer can update settings via “Settings > Account Settings > Add/Delete Account” in Internet Banking platform.
      • Starting from the Effective Date, the aggregated limit(s) of each transaction type (including Fund Transfer/Telegraphic Transfer and Bill Payment) will be calculated as the cumulative limit of all account(s) under the customer’s name, instead of single account(s).
      • After the upgrade of Internet Banking Services:
        • If customer has different Logon IDs and Passwords for Internet Banking Services and Mobile Banking Services, starting from the Effective Date, customer should use the Internet Banking Logon ID and Password to log on Mobile Banking Services, the Logon ID and Password for Mobile Banking Services will become invalid.
        • If customer has both personal account and joint account Internet Banking Logon ID and Passwords, after the upgrade of Internet Banking Services, customer can use the personal account Internet Banking Logon ID and Password to log on Internet Banking and/or Mobile Banking App, and view information for both their personal and joint accounts under their names. The Logon IDs and Passwords of joint account will become invalid starting from the Effective Date.
      • If customer has more than one set of personal account Internet Banking Logon IDs and Passwords, the last Logon ID and Password which were used to log on Internet Banking Services on or before 30 June 2024 00:00 am will become the Logon ID and Password thereafter. Please continue to use the aforesaid Internet Banking Logon ID and Password, to view information of all the personal account(s) under his/her name. All other sets of Logon IDs and Passwords will become invalid starting from the Effective Date.
      • For existing Internet Banking customers with joint authorities, their existing Internet Banking Logon ID and Password will become invalid starting from the Effective Date. Starting from the Effective Date, please visit any branch of the Bank to open a new personal account and activate Internet Banking Services if required.
      • If customer forgot Logon ID or Password, starting from the Effective Date, they can get back the Logon ID or reset Password via e-Identity verification using HKID card, or by using Chong Hing ATM card or visiting any branch of the Bank.

         

  2. Major Change Items
    1. Update Mobile Banking App interface design
      • Provide the Stylish and Simplified Interfaces for customer to select from
      • Add search function for customer to reach the desired features
      • Strengthen interface reminders to guide customer to complete entire transaction smoothly
      • "Save" function on completion page of financial transactions, for customer to view transaction record screenshots in photo album of mobile device

    2. Add other functions
      • Add remote account opening function for customer to open account online
      • New feature to activate Internet Banking Services with credit card, allowing customers who only hold the Bank’s credit card to activate Internet Banking Services
      • New feature to view outstanding balance of credit card
      • New feature to amend Logon ID with Mobile Token authentication

    3. Enhance account management functions
      • Add deposit, fixed deposit, loan, credit card and investment accounts in different tabs for overview
      • Provide shortcut keys for commonly used transactions
      • Enhance display of investment products
      • Provide dormant account reactivation service

    4. Enhance transfer services
      • Register payee during transfer transaction, no need to register again in the future
      • Provide “Another Instruction” option in Internet Banking Transaction Enquiry to facilitate multiple transfers
      • Activate Mobile Token service to conduct high-risk transactions to secure account safety
      • Provide transaction limit setting service
      • Provide FPS addressing service

    5. New services for Bill Payment
      • Register commonly used bill payment merchant(s) to pay bills
      • Set up forward-dated payment instruction(s) to complete scheduled payment
      • Enquire registered merchant(s) in single list
      • View online payment record and track payment status

    6. Foreign currency exchange and fixed deposit placement services
      • Add foreign currency exchange fixed deposit service
      • Selected customer can view preferential exchange rate and the amount saved on the foreign currency exchange transaction page
      • Enable sharing of favorable foreign exchange rates to friends

    7. Enhance interface for fund trading
      • Enhance fund trading page
      • Optimise and integrate fund transaction information

    8. Step up protection for transfer setting
      • Registered account(s) on Internet Banking that have not conducted fund transfers for 12 consecutive months will be removed
      • For customers who have not conducted high -risk fund transfers on Internet Banking for 12 consecutive months, the daily limit of fund transfer to non-registered account(s) and bill payment to non-registered high-risk merchant(s) via Internet Banking will be adjusted to HK$0
