 Chong Hing Bank Personal Internet Banking Services Enhancement Notification

Thank you for using the Internet Banking Services and Mobile Banking Services (collectively, the "Internet Banking Services") of Chong Hing Bank Limited (the "Bank"). The Internet Banking Services has released the latest version on 27 September 2024 (the "Effective Date"). This version is mainly aimed at upgrading and optimizing the commonly used functions of customers, providing a faster and smoother customer experience. The upgrade details are as follows:

Upgrade Content

  1. New Reminder for Mobile Token Upgrade
    The bank has upgraded Mobile Token Service on 30 June 2024, to provide better experience and flexible authentication methods to customer.  Customers who have not reactivated Mobile Token after 30 June 2024, will receive a reminder after logging in to Mobile Banking, to notify them that they need to reactivate Easy Logon [Mobile Token PIN (PIN) or Fingerprint /Face ID Authentication (Biometric Logon)] and Mobile Token services on or before 22 November 2024, in order to continue using Easy Logon and perform high-risk transaction authentication.

If the customer does not reactivate these services before 22 November 2024, starting from 23 November 2024, their current Easy Logon and Mobile Token services may be disabled, and the customer will need to log into Mobile Banking service using their Logon ID / Customer Reference Number and Password, and reactivate the relevant services via “My” > “Personal Information and Security Settings”> “Mobile Security Setting”.

The above arrangement is not eligible for new customer or customer who have reactivated Mobile Token after 30 June 2024.

  2. Improve Mobile Token Activation Journey, and Strengthen the Authentication Step for Mobile Token Activation

Improve Mobile Token Activation Journey
For customer to identify the activation journey of (1) Easy Logon and (2) Mobile Token service, the activation steps have been refined. Customer is required to activate Easy Logon first (i.e. SMS One-Time Password + Setup Mobile Token PIN), and after completion, below 3 options for Mobile Token services activation will be displayed for customer selection:

  • e-ID Verification (i.e. Scan your HKID and take selfie); or
  • Call the Customer Services Hotline; or
  • Email One-Time Password

Customer who is not required to activate Mobile Token service can click “Re-logon” to complete Easy Logon activation.

Strengthen Authentication Step for Mobile Token Activation
For customer who did not reactivate Mobile Token service after Easy Logon activation, SMS One-Time Password authentication is required for proceeding Mobile Token activation via “My” > “Personal Information and Security Settings”> “Mobile Security Setting” thereafter.

  3. Enhance Transaction Authentication in Mobile Banking Services

To improve flexibility on transaction authentication, when customer places high-risk transaction via Mobile Banking, they can choose to proceed first step authentication by using Mobile Token PIN or Internet Banking Logon Password.

  4. Optimize Fixed Deposit Service Layout and Journey

In order to improve customer experience, the layout and journey of Fixed Deposit service have been optimised as follows:

  • Select“Transfer principal and Interest to my designated account” as maturity instruction by default, and customer can select other maturity instruction if needed.
  • Layout enhancement for Fixed Deposit placement and Fixed Deposit overview pages

  5. Reduce The Minimum Exchange Amount per Transaction of Currency Exchange
To facilitate customer in conducting small amount currency exchange, the minimum exchange amount of Currency Exchange per transaction is reduced from HKD equivalent $500 to $50.


  6. Enhance Search Feature for Transfer / FPS Service
Allows customer to search the receiving bank/institution by bank code when placing Transfer/FPS transaction.


  7. Improve Bill Payment Service Journey and Reminder
  • Added a "Process Appointment" option on the Bill Payment input page, customer can choose to place a forward-dated bill payment for next 45 days.
  • For Bill payment submitted on non-working days, a reminder will be displayed on the confirmation page and acknowledgement page to remind customers that the instruction will be executed on the next working day.

  8. Optimize Change Email Address Function
To facilitate the completeness of customer personal information, when customer who has not registered an email address and clicks to view e-Statement, a reminder message will be prompted to direct customer to the "Change Email Address" function page for update.


  9. Support Copy and Paste for Transfer/FPS, Telegraphic Transfer, Bill Payment and My Payee Journey
Customers can copy and paste data to the input fields in Transfer/FPS, Telegraphic Transfer, Bill Payment and My Payee journey for a more convenient transfer experience.


  10. New SMS Notification for Remote Account Opening
Added new SMS notification for customers who successfully open accounts through remote account opening on Sundays and Hong Kong public holidays, to remind customers that they will not be able to place transaction until the next working day.


  11. Add QR Code for Hong Kong, China or Overseas Android Users to Download APK for Mobile Banking App
QR code is added to the logon page of Personal Internet Banking. Android users in Hong Kong, China or Overseas can scan the QR code to download the Chong Hing Bank Mobile Banking APP.
